A supply chain is comprised of all the businesses and individual contributors involved in creating a product, from raw materials to finished merchandise.

It is the management of operations that are involved in the procurement of raw materials, it's processing into finished goods, and distribution to the end-user. Good supply chain management ensures that you maintain a balance between demand and supply.
