It is the management of operations that are involved in the procurement of raw materials, it's processing into finished goods, and distribution to the end-user. Good supply chain management ensures that you maintain a balance between demand and supply.

It is important for every organization to under five major functions of SCM- Purchasing, Operations, Logistics, Resource Management, and Information flow.
